General Brief: A Bird of Paradise is several class of magical avians that inhabit tropical islands or jungle regions. They are known for their ability to fly, their vibrant plumage, and the fact that they have one or two magical powers. Noble adventurers will try and either tame or befriend one of these birds, as the birds powers tend to buff or possibly even heal characters. Villainous types will try to trap the birds and force the energy from them or slay them for alchemical purposes. Many native tribes view these birds as sacred and take grave offense at harassing these animals.

Inspire Courage (R: Near; Cost: 1; Resist: None/Harmless; D: 1 Scene): With a resounding cry the Bird of Paradise empowers the party. They are granted +1 to Will checks to resist mind control or fear and +1 to Attack and Defense rolls with physical weapons.

Healing Touch (Gimmick): Birds of Paradise are known to heal targets no matter what. A Bird of Paradise makes a Gimmick roll. Target is healed 1 hit points for every 2 rolled to a maximum of 5 points by rolling 10 and a 6th point on a Critical (roll of 11). Failure means the target is not healed and a Natural 20 means the Bird cannot heal again for 24 hours.
Hollow Bones (Weakness): When struck by a weapon, a Bird of Paradise rolls their Weakness. Should the Weakness succeed (a roll of 11 or below) the Bird of Paradise takes an extra 2 points of damage.
