Brief: Aarakocra are avian-humanoids who maintain the physique of men- medium build, bipedal, and they have two arms. However, their avian side is represented by their body covered in feathers and sporting the head of various birds. This can include sharp, sleek builds of hawks or eagles to more rounder face types, such as owls. Aarakocra share the following traits:
Flight: Can Fly at normal pace. They can also push themselves by 'running' in flight (roll d6 and add to their of squares they can fly.)
Hollow Bones: -1 Toughness due to hollow bones.
Keen Eyes: +2 Notice when using Sight.
Talons: Str+d6 Natural attack. Talons help an Aarakocra grip things, giving them a +2 bonus to Climb.

-Hafkir is a member of the Skyguard, a group of Aarakocra guardsmen who are sworn to protect the palace of the Arakocra monarch. As a Skyguard he has an unspoken boon of access to the palace at the cost of his Vow to protect the realm. He also has a Code of Honor that binds him to his position- though he dreams of becoming an adventurer and making his own way in the realm.
-As an NPC: He can serve as the character's guide, ally, or honorable enemy- depending on the corruption that has taken place among the Aarakocra. He is sworn to the throne, whether the monarch is benign or a tyrant and may have to fight the characters, even if it's reluctant- unless the characters are thieves, then he'll gouge their eyes out.
-As a PC: Hafkir is given some assignment to represent the Skythrone on some mission. Perhaps the people of the realm are gathering to confront some larger evil or delivery a magical MacGuffin to some place. Either way, Hafkir gets a chance to experience the life he's always dreamed of and perhaps over the course of the adventure gets a chance to follow his own path and be released from his duties.
