Vrock


Vrock

Brief: Across the multitudes of the planes where the denizens of the Abyss may tread, the nefarious Vrock serve as the vanguard. These demons, whose shape is the twisted mixture of a Vulture and a man, spring towards the fields of battle either using their claws or barbed spears to strike at targets. Vrocks in groups are known to gather and unleashed a terrible ritual: The Dance of the Vrock. This will be covered later, for now, one will identify Vrocks by their thick bodies covered in grey fur, large grey wings, and pink or purple flesh that make up their beaked head, feet, and the end of their tail. At the end of their hands are terrible curved claws. Vrock, much like vultures, dine of carrion left over from the battles.

Specials:

Frenzy: A Vrock may make 2 attacks at a -2 to each attack. A Vrock that is considered a 'Greater Vrock' may have Improved Frenzy.

Fly: May fly at normal speed and can 'run' with a d6 roll. Vrock can fly, but not quite a great speed due to the configuration of their body.

Resistance: Has +2 to recover from Shaken status; Immune to poison and disease. Half damage from non-magical weapons, except from those armed with weapons made for it's weakness.

Weakness (Metal): Depending on campaign this is either Silver or Cold Iron.

Ritual: Dance of the Vrock
Power Point Use: 2-6
Range: 24/48/96
Ritual Points: 10 with 3, +5 for every extra participant.

Effect: In the field Vrock are capable of producing their own artillery via a collective spell called the 'Vrock Dance' aka the 'Dance of Ruin'. This requires at least 3 Vrocks to begin to dance and chant. They shuffle a little bit to the left, a little bit to the right in a fashion that could be comical if it wasn't for the effect. At the end of the round of shuffling and cawing, the Vrocks launch a Blast power that is fired based an area that is range. The further the area they will it, the harder it becomes. The skill die for this ritual is a collective roll made with a d8 and possibly a Wild Die if lead by a Greater Vrock. The power of the Blast depends on how participants there are in the dance as shown below:

3 Dancers: Blast; Cost 2 Power Points; MBT and 2d6 (Fire) damage; HW.
4 Dancers: Blast; Cost 4; Power Points; MBT and 3d6 (Fire) damage; HW.
5+ Dancers: Blast; Cost 6 Power Points; LBT and 3d6 (Fire) damage; HW.

The dancers can continue this display up until their collective power points are exhausted or until the heroes can dispatch the dancers.
