And A Brace of Pistols...

In this post I had an idea of codifying a small selection of blackpowder weapons (which can already be found in the Savage Worlds Deluxe book) and come up with a few modifications a GM or player (with GM's approval) could apply to said weapons. Let's take a look at a standard chart.

Double Barrel (Pistol, Musket): A second barrel can be fitted onto the weapon allowing the shooter a second shot before having to reload. A shooter could pull both triggers at the same time, gaining two attacks at -2 each. Cost: +50 & Weight: +5

Rune Lock (All; Fantasy Genre): The standard pan-and-frizzen system is replaced by a rune enchanted hammer that upon striking the create a spark of flame that juts into the breach and fires the gun. This forgoes the need to add gun powder to the weapon's pan, reducing loading time. Loading time becomes 1 action. Cost: +100

Long Barrel (Musket): This musket's barrel has been replaced by a longer barrel to give it extra range. The musket weighs heavier compared to the standard model. Range Change: 15/30/60. Weight: +5; Cost: +30

Carbine (Musket): This is the opposite of the long barrel modification. This weapon's barrel has been drastically shorten to maintain the same striking power, but also can be used at a very close range. This weapon is also known as a 'Horse Pistol'. Range: 5/10/20; Cost: +20; Weight: -5

Pepperbox (Pistol): This version of the primitive pistol has multiple barrels that are pre-loaded with powder and shot. With a simple twist of the front a spent barrel is replaced by a fresh barrel until all six are fired. Each barrel must be loaded separately. It also takes 1 round between shots to reload powder into the pistol's pan, unless the shooter has combined this weapon with something akin to a rune lock. Modifications: Six shots taking 1 action to load and fire each instead of 2. Cost: +75
